No one has addressed my unique aspects of the 'root folder ' problem. After I set up a folder and select it, I then try to select the 'Servers, Version Control and Advanced Settings tabs in the Site Setup folder. None can be selected so I can't set up access to upload, test and do all the other connections that will connect Dreamweaver to my website on the web. Do I need to go to another program, such as a CuteFTP to upload my site from my computer to the web?

I'm having issues with this particular issue in the Find and Replace feature of CS4. I am unable to search in Dreamweaver for a string of characters. I've been using Dreamweaver is 4.0 and I'm close to scrapping it and finding a replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When you manually type in the directory name you need add it to the end of the link to the directory Dreamweaver does select. You also have to get the name of the directory exactly right.

Or you can create a directory (named "dummy" for instance) inside the one you want to and then select the "dummy" folder.
