I'm having issues with this particular issue in the Find and Replace feature of CS4. I am unable to search in Dreamweaver for a string of characters. I've been using Dreamweaver is 4.0 and I'm close to scrapping it and finding a replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When you manually type in the directory name you need add it to the end of the link to the directory Dreamweaver does select. You also have to get the name of the directory exactly right.

Or you can create a directory (named "dummy" for instance) inside the one you want to and then select the "dummy" folder.

Actually, I ran into this issue back in July 2010 and I'm sure I wasn't the first person to discover it.

Lame Adobe... Fix or free upgrade when you release the new one... There are free programs that have better support than this... THREE months now and not even the offer of a manual solution... fix the issues and stop releasing beta software. This is disgraceful.

I had this issue, and it went away. I ended up having an issue with Win 7 and had to run startup repair and the issue came back. I wish I could figure out what exactly breaks Dreamweaver, but I know it IS possible to get it working! If anyone ever figures this out, please post!

No fix and I wouldn't expect anything until CS5 comes out given Adobe's track record.

The product has certainly improved since Adobe took over, but one could argue that the same (and possibly greater) improvements might still have been made under Macromedia. Product improvement over time is natural. Or at least it should be (insert Microsoft as exception to rule)

Grr. We just moved to Windows 7 and are seeing this both in the site setup and also when setting the path for a text link from the design view.
