About the template

The Born on the 4th of July is a magazine style template with customization features and formatting flexibility built in. While at first glance it may seem more complex than most templates, the complexity is hidden from the end user.

Layout Options

Each page in this site has a unique layout create by turning on or off various design elements by using the menu: Modify>Template Properties… command. Use the menu links to view a few of the many possible layouts.

In addition, the color scheme can be completely reworked by changing a few CSS properties in its well commented style sheet.

Template support

Born on the 4th of July is ready to use as is but I encourage you to experiment and make changes such as adding additional editable regions, customizing colors and adding your own graphic elements.

Template support is free to students enrolled in the Dominate Dreamweaver online training course.

Highly Customizable

The The Feature Box, Three Column with Siderbars and TriFold sections are optional regions in the Template as are the horizontal and vertical menus offering you a number of design possibilities for your home and interior pages.

Equal Height Columns

Through some advanced CSS, All the column heights remain equalt as you add content.

Edit the Column Colors

The CSS file is well commented so that you can locate the correct style when you want to change the background color of any page element.

Background color is set in the .trifold .rightFold style rule. (Text) color is set in the .trifold .rightFoldContent style rule.
