Dreamweaver CS5.5 Gets 4.5 (out of 5) stars from PCworld

by James Cook on June 24, 2011

Dreamweaver CS5.5PCworld's Alan Stafford has just reviewed Dreamweaver CS.5 and given the latest version of the program an excellent 4.5 rating. His bottom line is that "Innovative new features make developing HTML 5/CSS 3-based sites and mobile sites easier." While he focuses on some of the more advanced features of the program, less experienced users will find a lot to like as well including W3C validation and Live View. And, if you're transitioning to design for mobile devices, PCworld highlights Dreamweaver's ability to "develop for mobile and desktop browsers" and its "excellent Multiscreen Preview mode" as reasons to like the program.

Of course, there's still more for Adobe to address. The review specifically mentions that Live View doesn't address Internet Explorer issues (it's based on the Web KIt browser engine used by Safari and Chrome) and that checking for cross browser support is an external function as weaknesses.
